Inconel 625 Sheet

Nickel Alloy 625 sheet is used for its high strength, easy fabrication (including joining), and outstanding corrosion resistance. Service temperatures range from cryogenic to 1800°F (982°C).

625 Nickel Alloy Sheet is often used for high strength fabrication projects. It has excellent corrosion resistance under a range of temperatures. Often used for in marine and submarine conditions, alloy 625 offers incredible weldability and dissimilar metal jointing. Inconel® 600 sheet is available in thicknesses ranging from .016 to .156". Inconel® 600 strip in coil from is available in lighter gauges up 24" wide. Inconel® 600 plate is available up 3" thick.

Inconel 625 Sheet has excellent strength at temperatures up to 816℃. At higher temperatures, its strength is generally lower than that of other solid solution strengthened alloys. Inconel 625 Sheet has good oxidation resistance at temperatures up to 980℃ and shows good resistance to aqueous corrosion, but is relatively moderate compared to other more capable corrosion resistant alloys.

Fabrication and Heat Treatment

Inconel 625 can be machined using conventional machining methods which are used for iron-based alloys. Machining operations are performed using commercial coolants. High-speed operations such as grinding, milling or turning, are performed using water-base coolants. Inconel 625 is welded using gas-tungsten arc welding, shielded metal-arc welding, gas metal-arc welding, and submerged-arc welding methods.
