Titanium 8AI 1Mo 1V Sheet

Titanium 8-1-1 Sheet is a weldable, highly creep resistant, high strength alloy for use up to 455 °C. Ti 8-1-1 has the highest modulus and lowest density of all Ti alloys.

This material is stocked primarily in Wire Products by 6 distributors but is also available to a lesser extent in Flat Rolled Products, Bar Products, Fasteners, Forging Products, and Tubular Products. Distributors will offer small quantity buys while mills will generally only sell large quantities, with delivery times anywhere from 10 to 50 weeks depending on size and form required

Ti-8Al-1Mo-1V Sheet is a "near alpha" alloy. It is primarily used in aircraft engine applications. The alloy is noted for being difficult to fabricate in larger sections. The alloy is available as wire (for welding), bar, billet, sheet, plate, extrusions, and forgings.

The development of many different alloys has extended the application of titanium in industries ranging from industrial and chemical processing to power generation. This grade possesses good weldability, strength, ductility and formability.

Titanium Corrosion Resistance

Titanium's outstanding corrosion resistance is due to the formation of a tightly adherent oxide film on its surface. When damaged, this thin invisible layer immediately reforms, maintaining a surface which is completely resistant to corrosive attack in sea water and all natural environments. This oxide is so resistant to corrosion that titanium components often look brand new even after years of service.
