Monel K500 Flanges

We are also manufacturer, supplier and exporter of Monel K500 (werkstoff nr. 2.4360) Forged Flanges, Plate Flanges, Big Diameter Flanges as per customers drawing or specification.

We are Manufacturers, Supplier and Exporters of Monel K500 Flanges. These Monel R405 flanges are used with stub end or daft which is butt welded to the pipe with the flange loose behind it. It implies the stub end or daft always makes the face. These flanges are designed to comply with International standards and specifications. Monel R405 offers about the same corrosion resistance as nickel but with higher maximum working pressures and temperatures and at a lower cost due to its superior ability to be machined.

Monel K500 material is a nickel-copper alloy (about 67% Ni – 23% Cu) that is resistant to sea water and steam at high temperatures as well as to salt and caustic solutions. Alloy K500 is a solid solution alloy that can only be hardened by cold working. This nickel alloy exhibits characteristics like good corrosion resistance, good weldability and high strength. A low corrosion rate in rapidly flowing brackish or seawater combined with excellent resistance to stress-corrosion cracking in most freshwaters, and its resistance to a variety of corrosive conditions led to its wide use in marine applications and other non-oxidizing chloride solutions. This nickel alloy is particularly resistant to hydrochloric and hydrofluoric acids when they are de-aerated. As would be expected from its high copper content, alloy K500 is rapidly attacked by nitric acid and ammonia systems.

We are catering to provide our clients with a highly qualitative range of Monel Flanges that are fabricated using quality raw material and are available in various grades and dimensions. These products are known for the excellent quality. Our wide range of Monel flanges includes Monel Long Weld Neck Flanges, Monel Weld Neck Flanges, Monel Socket Weld Flanges, and Monel Slip on Flanges, Monel Blind Flange, Monel Screwed Flanges, Monel Lapped Joint Flanges, Monel Reducing Flanges and Monel Spectacle Blind Flanges.

We fabricate and supply monel alloy flanges which are fabricated using graded raw material in the production process. These precision engineered monel alloy flanges are durable, corrosion resistance, oil & temperature resistance and have high tensile strength. These are used with stub end or taft which is butt welded to the pipe with the flange loose behind it. It implies the stub end or taft always makes the face. The lap joint is ideal for low pressure applications as it is easily assembled and aligned. These can be supplied without a hub and/or in treated, coated carbon steel in order to reduce cost.

Monel K500 is a nickel-copper alloy that is hardened by cold working only. Monel K500 has low corrosion rate in flowing seawater, therefore it is widely used in marine applications. Monel 400® also has excellent resistance to stress corrosion cracking in most freshwaters. Monel K500 can be used in temperatures up to 1000 ºF. The alloy has great mechanical properties at subzero temperatures.

Monel K500 has a chemical composition of:

  • Nickel 63%
  • Copper 28-34%
  • Carbon .3% max
  • Manganese 2% max
  • Iron 2.5% max
  • Silicon 0.5 max
  • Sulfur 0.025-0.060%

Monel K500 is very similar to Monel 400®except for its greater sulfur content. Monel K500 also has the same corrosion resistance and physical properties as the Monel K500 with a slightly different range of mechanical properties. Monel K500 was developed for good machinability.

Fabrication and Heat Treatment

The machinability of MONEL K500 is difficult as it work-hardens during machining. The conventional machining techniques used on iron alloys may be used for this alloy. Welding methods including gas-arc welding, metal-arc welding, gas-metal-arc welding and submerged-arc welding are recommended on this alloy. Cold working may be done using soft die materials for better finishing.
